John Lennon Wall - Prague

The John Lennon Wall is a wall in PragueCzech Republic. Once just your'e average wall, but since the 1980s it has been filled with Lennon-inspired graffiti and pieces of lyrics from Beatle's songs.

Young Czechs would write grievances on the wall and was described ironically as "Lennonism". The wall continuously undergoes change and the original portrait of Lennon is long lost under layers of new paint. Even when the wall was repainted by authorities, it was soon again full of poems and flowers. Today, the wall represents a symbol of global ideals such as love and peace.

I came across this wall on my visit to Prague in 2013, it is overwhelming to see such a display of dedicated graffiti. I found the experience of reading such beautiful thoughts and witnessing incredible portraits simply breath-Taking. The wall did take a bit of finding, but I would defiantly recommend the walk to go find it if you ever go to Prague.
